While campaigning for his son George P. Bush to win the election for Texas Land Commissioner, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush discussed his family's opinion on him running for president in 2016.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Jeb confirmed that he is considering running for the Republican Party's nomination, but added that George's political interests will play a factor in his decision.

"I don't want to do anything that would make it harder for George to be successful in his pursuits, for sure," he said. "... George comes from a family that has two presidents and a governor from another state. Those are complications in his life that he has dealt with, I think, with a lot of grace."

Jeb also revealed that he is winning over his mother, who he described as having "been around the track."

"... she just believes that it's something that she doesn't want my family to go through, although she's changed her mind on that," Jeb explained. "So I'm marking her down to 'neutral, trending in a different direction' than she was."

Jeb's wife, Columba Bush, on the other hand, is apparently completely on board for a presidential run.

Still, Jeb has his reservations.

"My wife is supportive, but that doesn't mean that I don't understand the challenges that this brings," he explained. "This is ultimately my decision with as much consideration as I can to take into account the people that I really love."

Meanwhile, George, who is reportedly likely to win the race for state land commissioner, is on board but has his own things to worry about.

"... I would like to be helpful, but he knows that if I'm privileged to serve the state," he explained. "... my focus has to be on this agency and getting ready for the next hurricane."
