WWE SmackDown Spoilers, Results for October 17, 2014: Dean Ambrose Faces Kane as Hell in a Cell Approaches
WWE Friday Night SmackDown kicked off with Seth Rollins coming out to the ring to discuss his Hell in a Cell (HIAC) cage match against Dean Ambrose, saying that his ex-Shield partner does not deserve a match against him, but rather deserves a straight-jacket instead.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler came out and interrupted Rollins only to get drop-kicked by the Money In The Bank (MITB) suitcase-holder to kick off the night's event.
Ziggler ended up losing to Rollins in the opening match of SmackDown after taking a Curb Stomp from Rollins, with the champion ending up with his shoulders on the mat and taking the loss in the non-title bout. After the match, Ambrose interrupted Rollins, discussing the damage he intended to inflict on him in their HIAC cage match, until Kane interjected, saying he also likes to hurt people and scheduling himself in a match against Ambrose in the main event later in the night.
WWE United States Champion Sheamus and the Usos defeated the WWE Tag Team Champions -- Stardust and Goldust -- and The Miz in a Six-Man Tag Team match after Sheamus nailed one of his opponents with a Brogue Kick to take the victory.

The Big Show, who asked his "World's Strongest Tag Team" partner Mark Henry to come out to the ring, promised the WWE Universe that he would beat down Rusev at Hell in a Cell in their scheduled bout for the pay-per-view. The Big Show asked Mark Henry to stay out of his match at HIAC, much like he did for him when "The World's Strongest Man" battled Rusev last month, sayin that he needed to battle the European strongman on his own. Rusev and Lana came out to the ramp, with Lana saying that Big Show will let his country down, just like Henry did at Night of Champions last month.
Nikki Bella prepared for her HIAC match against her sister Brie, with the loser becoming the winner's assistant, by defeating Naomi in singles competition, taking her out with her Rack Attack finisher.
In the main event, Dean Ambrose defeated Kane via disqualification after Seth Rollins interfered in the match. Rollins and Kane Power Bombed Ambrose and were going to attempt to Curb Stomp him onto a chair before Ambrose recovered to save himself from another mauling by The Authority. Ambrose grabbed the steel chair and attempted to hit Rollins with it, but nailed Kane instead as Rollins retreated towards the ramp, "The Lunatic Fringe" staring down Rollins to end the show.
