Cher New Album 2013 Release Date: 'Closer to the Truth' Available Now, 'Dressed to Kill' Tour Begins Mar. 2014
After almost a decade, the iconic Cher is putting her deep, sultry vocals back to work with the release of her 26th album, "Closer To The Truth" today, proving that you can turn back time at age 67.
A chameleon in her own right, Cher has been reinventing herself and her music, staying current with remixes of her empowering anthemic tunes, such as "Believe." While she may no longer don black leather, bottom-less pants during her performances, she still brought it home, drawing tons of fans to Rockefeller Plaza on the TODAY show on Sept. 22.
The singer who has sold more than 100 million records worldwide, told CBS Sunday Morning that she has no qualms being vocal about getting older and not loving it.
"People are so shocked that I say I don't like getting older, because I think you're supposed to say,'Oh I am better than ever and it's great, blah, blah, blah. Un-huh, not happening for me," she told CBS' Anthony Mason.
Audiences have witnessed many sides of the diva throughout the years -- from her youthful "Sonny and Cher" run to her acting roles in "Moonstruck" and "Mermaids" to her memorable concerts and wild costume changes. We have also seen a softer, more tender side of Cher when she lost the love of her life, the late Sonny Bono with whom she had a daughter Chastity who later underwent a gender reassignment surgery to become Chaz Bono.
Cher's "Dressed to Kill" tour" begins March 22 in Phoenix, Ariz. and will continue throughout the U.S. and Canada until July 11.
