Drake Hot New Music & Songs 2014: 'How About Now' Reportedly Leaks Online
Drake's brand new track titled "How About Now" was reportedly leaked online on Sunday evening, ahead of his fourth studio album "Views From The 6" release.
Rumored to be produced by Boi-1da, who also worked on the Toronto emcee's previous single "0 to 100/The Catch Up," the 4-minute long song opens with a voicemail from an anonymous woman.
"That's the sh*t I'm talking about though, like you changed up, you don't even f*cking link nobody no more, you just dash me away like a cyattie. Yo, you cheesed me dog," she says.
The track actually samples Jodeci's 1993 classic "My Heart Belongs to You." Drizzy jumps on the smooth R&B instrumental to rap about all of the things he did for his ex-lover, who did not appreciate him enough before he became famous:
"Remember I deleted all my other girls numbers out the phone for you? / Remember when you had to take the Bar exam, I drove in the snow for you? / You probably don't remember half the sh*t a n*gga did for you.
"I bought your dad a bunch of s**t for Christmas, he ain't even say thank you / I had no money left from acting, I was focused on the music / I used to always try and burn you CDs of my new s**t," he continues. "You be like 'Who's this?' / I be like 'Me, girl' / You be like 'Oh word, true s**t?' / Then ask if we could listen to Ludacris."
According to The Fader, "How About Now" was first posted by a teenage SoundCloud user from Marietta, Georgia. It is claimed to be off Drake's upcoming new album, although it sounds like a leftover from the "Nothing Was the Same" recording sessions.
