iOS 8 Jailbreak Update: Pangu and evad3s Working on iPhone and iPad Jailbreaks
Amid the recent announcements of new Apple hardware like iPhones and iPads, rumors on a potential jailbreak version of the latest operating system software are running rampant. Apple will be rolling out the iOS 8.1 before the end of October, meaning that soon-to-be slightly outdated iOS 8 will likely have a jailbreak version released soon after.
While rumors for iPhone and iPad jailbreaks are frequent, groups like evad3rs and pangu working on the jailbreaks claim that these versions won't be ready for the public anytime soon.
Pangu, a China-based team, did indicate they were currently working on iOS 8, but a source on The Fuse Joplin said it will likely not be cracked for at least the next several weeks, up to several more months of waiting.
There are several reasons for the delay among developers in releasing the iOS 8 jailbreak versions. Namely, iOS has significant stability problems like glitches and bugs. Jailbreaking an unstable version of the operating system is not a good idea for Pangu, who would be wise to wait until a later, more stable version to be released.
The other major issue with iOS 8 is the compatibility lag time with many apps. As popular apps slowly continue to update to the newest operating system, it will take time for these to be usable by iOS users across the board, those with or without jailbreak versions.
Also, the projected quick succession of future Apple iOS updates also mean that the toilsome transfer to a jailbreak version may not be worth its labors to quickly be obsolete. According to the International Business Times, another update from Apple might come as soon as Q1 2015, with another later on in April.
Several rumors estimate the release of the iOS 8 jailbreak to be withheld until December, but it is unclear which group or at what time the software will debut online.
