It didn't take very long for iOS 8.1 to get a jailbreak. The Chinese group Pangu released a jailbreak for developers, but you'll have to wait for a bit for the wide release date with Cydia.

Pangu announced the launch of their iOS 8.1 jailbreak v 1.0.0 on Wednesday Oct. 22,  but disabled public downloads soon after, because of a problem that might cause users to lose their photos. In addition, the English version of the tool isn't available yet, anyway.

Finally, to cap off the non-publicness of this first iOS 8.1 jailbreak, Cydia isn't available to use yet, because it's not compatible with iOS 8 yet, according to the PanguTeam's Twitter account, via 9to5Mac. So the current (quickly done) jailbreak is basically only open to developers -- who have Windows and can read Chinese.

Pangu promised an upcoming release date announcement for the public jailbreak though, and it can't be far behind. Pangu has already announced v1.0.1 with some bug fixes -- but still in chinese and only for Windows.

Once jailbreak developers port their apps to iOS 8 though, and Cydia and its associated services are made compatible with iOS 8, the Pangu team will be able to release a full package iOS 8.1 jailbreak to the public.

So much for Apple making iOS unbreakable, or not worth jailbreaking -- interest in freeing the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus to use unauthorized apps seems to be at an all time high.
