New pop sensations Sam Smith and 5 Seconds of Summer have been added to the roster of performers who will hit the stage at the 2014 American Music Awards next month.

According to an announcement from Dick Clark Productions released Thursday, R&B legend Mary J. Blige will also perform at the award show on Nov. 23 at the Nokia Theatre LA. The show, which will be hosted by Pitbull, will air live on ABC at 8 p.m. EST. "Boom Clap" singer Charli XCX will open the award show.

British pop star Sam Smith and the Australian boy band will also face off with for the New Artist of the Year award, against Iggy Azalea, Bastille and Meghan Trainor.

Iggy, a 24-year-old Australian rapper with a Dirty South twang, is leading the nominations this year with five AMA nods. Meanwhile, music veterans John Legend, Katy Perry and Pharrell Williams each have five nominations, while newcomer Lorde is up for four.

As of now, there are currently 10 entertainers competing for the top award, the Artist of the Year award. However, that number will be cut in half to five nominees based on the number of votes received through Nov. 13.

Fans have the option to cast their votes starting on Monday in all categories except New Artist of the Year on AMAvote.com and by tweeting the nominee's name, category and #AMAs hashtag. Fans will be allowed to vote for the New Artist of the Year starting on Nov. 1.
