Ricky Martin 'Adios' Song & News Update 2014: Star Is Drawn to Acting, Would Love to Work With Quentin Tarantino
Ricky Martin has been a fixture in the music industry for at least a decade, but he confessed that he's also interested in acting.
"The movies call my attention," he said. "Personally, I would like to do some project with Quentin Tarantino."
Martin's only acting credit is as part of the 1992 Mexican film "Más Que Alcanzaruna Estrella."
"I'd love to work with Tarantino; that doesn't mean that I'm meeting with him," Martin said. "I like his movies, his work. I think that he could get me to do something completely unpredictable that has nothing do with how I represent myself in music, and that's what I'm looking: to show a different side of me than what the public is used to seeing."
Martin said he has had several requests, and he is ready for the challenge of being someone completely different. He was in Chile for a performance at the national stadium, where there would be about 50,000 people.
"I can't help being a bit nervous," he said. "Not only about the concert, but because it will be transmitted on the television to millions of people."
He recently released the music video for his song, "Adios."
Martin plays five different characters in the cabaret-themed video. He is a customer, a man at the bar and a performer. The song was released a month earlier on iTunes.
Martin, who has been an entertainer since his teenage years, was recently talked about by Menudo member Roy Rosello.
The two were in the group together, and Rosello alleges that their manager was abusive toward them. Rosello said that at the last party he attended, the manager had Ricky Martin dress as a woman. Rosello just ran away and felt ashamed of what the manager had made him do.
