Eiza Gonzalez Plastic Surgery Before and After: Nose Job Exemplifies Cosmetic Surgery Trends in U.S., Latin America
Ever since Mexican actress and singer Eiza Gonzalez was romantically linked to Miley Cyrus' ex-fiance, Liam Hemsworth, the spotlight has been shining on her from every angle, raising questions as to who is this Latin beauty and how much work has she had done to attain her delicate features?
While Gonzalez has admitted to just having a nose job on the Spanish talks show Hoy in 2011, critics have suggested otherwise. People en Espanol recently featured a slideshow showing the evolution of the 23-year-old star.
Hollywood Life, had plastic surgeons take a closer look to evaluate what other procedures the actress could have had done, suggesting she could have also had work done on her chin and eyebrows as well as botox injections.
Dr. Brian Glatt, a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon in Morristown, NJ, told Hollywood Life: "Although her facial structure looks different and more attractive, most of that seems to be due to “growing into her looks,” along with significant weight loss and professional makeup and hair. She does appear to have had Botox treatments in her forehead and brow. She also may have have some work on her chin (perhaps even at the time of her rhinoplasty, which is a very common combination) as it appears smaller and better defined. She likely had a small chin implant placed."
Cosmetic surgery is high in the United States, ranking fourth, following Colombia in fifth and Brazil in eighth and Mexico in tenth.
The Economist pointed out a study from the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons indicating that "Over 14.7m tucks, peels, jabs and lifts were performed by licensed plastic surgeons in 2011. America is home to more cosmetic enhancement than anywhere else, but accounting for population reveals a different story. On that measure, more primping and preening goes on in South Korea, Greece and Italy..." The most popular invasive (ie, surgical) operation is fat removal, or lipoplasty, reflecting a growing problem for a fattening world. Breast augmentation, the second biggest surgical procedure, is most commonly performed in America and Brazil. Buttock implants are also a Brazilian specialty, as is vaginal rejuvenation. Asia is keen on nose jobs: China, Japan and South Korea are among the top five nations for rhinoplasty."
According to the examiner.com, Medellin, Colombia is a hot spot for plastic surgery and is attainable regardless of your economic status.
"There is even a university program to provide free plastic surgery to the poorest residents of the city. Plastic surgery residents get practice, and the low income residents get liposuction, breast augmentations and buttock enhancement."
