Dumb and Dumber To Release Date, Plot: Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels Begin Filming Sequel
There are some movies that people demand a sequel for. Well, we won’t have to wait any longer for Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels to reunite. "Dumb and Dumber To" has started filming in Atlanta.
Daniels took home an Emmy for his work on “The Newsroom” and he revealed to the press after his win backstage that he was going to “party 'til dawn and then I'm gonna get on a plane and go to Atlanta and start shooting 'Dumb and Dumber 2.'" He then joked about the irony of the intelligence his “Newsroom” character has and the lack of intelligence his “Dumb and Dumber” character has.
He then talked about shooting the film "There are some things we're going to do in 'Dumb and Dumber 2' that make the toilet scene look lame ... pales in comparison. I can't divulge what, just that they've topped it."
Luckily the two actors have free schedules, allowing them to revisit their 1994 film. The original film showed Lloyd (Carrey) and Harry (Daniels) go off on a cross-country adventure to deliver a suitcase win the love of Mary Swanson (Lauren Holly). The duo has no common sense and ended up in a kidnapping plot.
Critics gave “Dumb and Dumber” mixed reviews but was still a big hit at the box office. “Dumb and Dumber” grossed $127 million in the U.S. and $247 million worldwide according to Box Office Mojo.
