Dancing With The Stars Season 17 Cast, Video And Recap: Bill Nye Injured With Torn Ligament
Bill Nye, The Science Guy, of Dancing With The Stars Season 17, has been injured, partially tearing a ligament in his leg, CBS News reports. The producers of the show added that the 57-year-old celebrity contestant has been given sufficient medical attention after he got hurt during his last dance performance.
He shared on his Instagram account a photo with his leg all wrapped up elevated. He also had his professional dance partner by his side, Tyne Stecklein.
During the Monday episode, the two performed a paso doble which received a score of 17/30 from the panel of judges. Before te DWTS Season 17 started, the Science Guy told CBS News that he was nervous to dance but confessed that he's "in it to win it."
During the past 17 seasons of the reality dance show, injuries have always been a common thing to happen to contestants. In the past, Misty May-Treanor suffered a torn Achilles tendon as she was rehearsing, while Melissa Gilbert had whiplash during a paso doble performance just last year.
Even if Bill had one of the worst scores for the Dancing With The Stars Season 17, he still was able to avoid being eliminated. He told Entertainment Weekly that he's "pigeon-toed, on the wrong foot, and slouched." One of his best strategies to keep himself staying in the game? He invests more time on getting the popular votes through the power of social media. However, if Bill needs to get through a surgery, then he may have to withdraw from the show and finally put an end to his journey on Dancing With The Stars Season 17.
The first star eliminated during week 2 was Keyshawn Johnson.
