Amanda Bynes 2014 News: Actress Deemed 'Stable Enough' to Leave Psychiatric Facility Following Strange Behavior, Twitter Posts
Former child star Amanda Bynes has been released from Las Encinas hospital facility in Pacadena, California, where she had been placed on an involuntary psychiatric hold.
A hearing officer said Thursday that they "felt Amanda was stable enough so she could not be held involuntarily, so he ended the 30-day hold that had been granted last week and Amanda walked out the front door," according to TMZ.
Amanda had been held in Las Encinas since Oct. 10, and the mentioned 30-day hold was extended on Monday.
The 28-year-old actress was also photographed walking down Hollywood's Sunset Boulevard Thursday night after her release.
According to E! News, court documents state that a "status hearing" must be held within 12 hours of Bynes' release from Las Encinas into the temporary care of her mother, Lynn Bynes. Amanda's presence is required at this status hearing to determine her health and "address the continuation of the temporary conservatorship."
A court date of Feb. 24, 2015, was set to revisit Lynn's conservatorship status on Amanda. In Amanda's parents' case of conservatorship over their daughter, they told the judge that the "Hairspray" star posed "a substantial risk to herself, to others and to property based on her recent behavior."
The recent behavior included her Sept. 28 DUI arrest and her "erratic behavior" living in New York, when there was "surveillance video was released to media outlets, which depicted the proposed conservatee attempting to shoplift and engage in bizarre dancing inside a New York clothing store on or about Oct. 8, 2014."
On Twitter, Amanda also accused her father Rick Bynes of sexual abuse and made "several statements on social media sites about a microchip she believes is inside her head." She was then kicked out JFK airport for strange behavior when she tried to board a flight.
