With her latest television series premiering in November, actress Katherine Heigl weighed in on rumors that she is a "rude" co-worker.

Heigl, best known for her work on the show "Grey's Anatomy" and in films such as "Knocked Up" and "27 Dresses," has been the subject of industry rumors that she is a difficult actress behind the scenes.

For instance, "Grey's Anatomy" creator and ABC series empress Shonda Rhimes snubbed the star when she described her "no a-holes" policy when casting actors in roles.

"There are no Heigls in this situation. ... I don't put up with bullsh*t or nasty people," the "Scandal" and "How to Get Away with Murder" creator said. "I don't have time for it."

But during a recent Facebook Q&A session to promote her new NBC drama "State of Affairs," Heigl fielded a question from a fan that asked about the "rumors that you're very rude."

"Yeah I've heard those too. ... Honestly I don't think I am. ... Nothing makes me more uncomfortable than confrontation or hurting someone's feelings, and I would never, ever, actively do so on purpose," Heigl said. "Of course just like any human being I've made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted but I always try to make any wrong right."

She went on, adding "that doesn't mean I won't stand up for myself by drawing boundaries and asking to be treated kindly and respectfully, but I don't do that with any rude or unkind intentions just with the same strength, and honestly I think every one of us is entitled to."

Then the actress redirected the conversation back to her new role as CIA briefer Charlie Tucker in "State of Affairs." In the series, Tucker was previously engaged to the president's, played by Alfre Woodard, adult son.

When asked what she liked most about this new small screen role, Heigl said, "There is so much about the story and the character that drew me in! I love that [Charlie] is a strong, intelligent, powerful woman who has these weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

"I love her patriotism and sense of duty and honor," she said on Facebook. "I love her relationship with the president played by the incredible Miss Alfre Woodard."
