The 39th season of Saturday Night Live opened with Breaking Bad's Aaron Paul stealing the show, ensuring SNL fans that the show continues to be relevant, and continues to be more hilarious than ever, as reported by USA Today.

The opening skit featured a parody of the controversial healthcare act, Obamacare. After a series of damaging testimonies of support from 'ordinary Americans,' the President Obama character (Jay Pharaoh) introduced 'a man from New Mexico,' who happens to be Breaking Bad's Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul).

As expected, the Meth dealer talked about his former teacher and Meth pal Walter White, and how not having Obamacare affected White's life.  Pinkman raved, "Hey, what's up. I have this friend, you know, and he got sick. Cancer sick; but because there wasn't Obamacare, he couldn't afford the treatment. So he was, like, backed into a corner; so, he did what any of us would've done: he started cooking meth. And soon it wasn't just meth, it was murder. And not regular murder, you know, he blew half a guy's face off," according to Raw Story. (Watch the video here.)

Apart from the opener, Aaron Paul also made a number of cameo appearances throughout the show, on the Weekend edition, and in an SNL teaser recommending 'e-meth' to the audience, spoofing the e-cigarette. Paul appeared alongside with favourite SNL alum Tina Fey.

Aaron Paul had been ecstatic over his invitation to SNL. He took to social media to express his pleasure, sharing a photo of performer Aracade Fire, saying that "Arcade fire and SNL!!! I love you so much!!! Thanks for having me," according to US Weekly.

"Breaking Bad" has been an AMC hit since its premiere in 2008. It won an Emmy award for "Outstanding Drama Series" this year. The series finale aired Sunday, September 29 and reportedly exceeded fans' expectations.

Meanwhile, SNL introduced six new funny talents in its premiere which includes Brooks Wheelan, Kyle Mooney, John Milhisner, Noël Wells, Mike O'Brien and Beck Bennett.
