Lindsey Vonn is recovering well from her knee injury and will likely return to competition in the next several weeks barring major setbacks.

Vonn, who has yet to compete this year after undergoing a second major surgery to repair a torn ACL in her right knee, said in an interview that she is doing very well since she started training several weeks ago, revealing that she is not experiencing pain in her right knee.

"I feel really good," Vonn said via ESPN. "I was expecting to have some bumps along the way. But I haven't had any problems, no setbacks. It hasn't gotten swollen, haven't even felt it, no pain. I'm pretty excited where things are at."

The former 2010 Olympic downhill event champion admitted, though, that she is still struggling to get into her rhythm after the long layoff, but she is optimistic that she will regain her old form in time for her planned return later this year.

"I feel like I need a little bit more training, more repetition," Vonn said. "Otherwise, the technique and stuff is all there. Just need to get the tactics down, get some more reps. I'll be in good shape after a couple more training sessions.

"I'm a little more tentative still on the more difficult terrain. ... That just comes with time. With more training and more confidence, I'll be good."

The 30-year-old skier, who is three wins away from tying record the World Cup victories record of 62, is eyeing to return to competition in Lake Louise, Alberta, in the first week of December. But after feeling good in her recent training sessions, Vonn said that she might make her comeback later this month.

"You know me, I never rule anything out until the last minute," Vonn said. "At the same time, I need to also be more reserved than I was last year. I think Lake Louise is the perfect place for me to start. That's still the plan. But you never know. Things could change if I start skiing incredibly fast. I can't rule it completely out."
