The dysfunction in the Mikaelson family has peaked to a new level in "The Originals," and it's only going to get more intense.

Shocking revelations about Elijah were revealed in the last episode, titled "Red Door." Although Elijah is known for being noble and sophisticated, Esther (who will continue to be played by guest star and "The Wire" alum Sonja Sohn according to Dread Central) forced him to relive dark memories from his past, including the fact that he accidentally killed Tatia, the woman that both he and his brother Klaus loved.

In Monday's episode, entitled "Wheel Inside the Wheel," Cami will face pressure to betray Klaus, while Elijah will continue to struggle to survive his mother's wrath.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, executive producer Michael Narducci warned that Kol has a secret agenda behind his intention to team up with his sibilings, saying he won't "necessarily ... jump into bed" with them.

"But he's got his own agenda. With Kol, he knows he is a lesser witch than both Finn and Esther, and that is by design," he explained. "Esther knows she can't completely trust Kol; she thinks she's given him an opportunity for a new life and expects some loyalty, but she wouldn't put him into a super powerful witch because Kol's a little bit of a trickster. So when Kol refuses to answer that phone and then two seconds later his nose starts bleeding, you know Finn's like 'Don't mess with me. I own you.' He's on a little bit of a leash and everything he does is going to be a part of his agenda to break free of it. So with Davina, does he care about her or is he using her as a potential ally to get himself out of a hot spot? That's one of the great questions with him."

The EP also teased that more family skeletons will come out of the closet in the next episode.

"We're going to get into stuff with the family history and the origin of Esther and Mikael as we unpack those secrets," Narducci said. "It's no secret that the next episode after 'Red Door' is called 'Wheel Inside the Wheel.' We chose that title because, in the past, we've said there's these cycles of violence and they just keep repeating. But within every cycle of violence, there is an origin story. I like the notion that every single person you meet is dealing with secrets that you cannot possibly know about-and if you did, you might have more sympathy for them."

However, when asked if Klaus will find out if Elijah killed Tatia, the EP only responded with "great question."

Narducci also hinted that Rebekah will return to the show in the upcoming weeks.

"You won't be doing much Christmas shopping without having gotten a glimpse of Claire Holt," he teased.

According to Carter Matt, the official synopsis for "Wheel Inside the Wheel" reads as follows:

"Fed up with her antics, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) becomes agitated and demands that Esther (guest star Sonja Sohn) release Elijah (Daniel Gillies), whom she has captured. However, Esther reveals a few dark secrets from Klaus' past in an attempt to make him an offer he can't refuse.

"Meanwhile, Oliver (guest star Chase Coleman) ends up in a dangerous situation, prompting Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) to reconnect with Jackson (guest star Nathan Parsons), who has been living a new life out in the bayou. Elsewhere, Cami (Leah Pipes), who still believes baby Hope's death was her fault, teams up with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis) and Gia (guest star Nishi Munshi) after she becomes suspicious of her faculty advisor Vincent (guest star Yusuf Gatewood). Lastly, in a surprising turn of events, Klaus comes face-to-face with a visitor from his past."

"The Originals" season 2 episode 5, "Wheel Inside the Wheel" airs on Monday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
