Is Miley Cyrus Dead or Alive?: 2014 Facebook Post Claims 'Wrecking Ball' Singer Suffered Death From 'Drug Overdose' [Video]
Miley Cyrus became the latest victim of a celebrity death hoax following a social media post claiming she was found dead next to bottles of pills.
The message surfaced on Facebook page "R.I.P. Miley Cyrus (1992-2014)" and was accompanied by an image, which supposedly showed the 21-year-old pop star passed out because of a "drug overdose."
Fans immediately reacted, tweeting:
However, it turned out that the photo was just taken from Cyrus' video "Blonde SuperFreak Steals the Magic Brain" made with The Flaming Lips:
This is not the first time it has been reported that the "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker has died, as a similar death hoax surfaced on Facebook back in July.
"{SHOCKING) Miley Cyrus Found Dead in Her Los Angeles Home! Country singer Miley Cyrus found overdosed this afternoon in her Los Angeles home," the hoax claimed.
At the time, Cyrus did not even bother to respond to the faux report.
"She is aware of the death hoax and thought it was actually pretty funny," a source said told Hollywood Life at the time. "By not responding, she thinks it is that much more of a joke because people are continuing to believe it."
