Veterans Day Freebies: Vets Get Free Meals, Appetizers, Desserts Plus Entertainment and Shopping Deals Throughout the Week at These Locations
People across the U.S. are honoring active-duty service members and veterans with ceremonies and parades as the holiday gives citizens the opportunity to remember the sacrifices that military men and women have made to defend our great country. Businesses are honoring veterans as well with freebies and deals from haircuts to buffet meals.
ABC News reports the following deals reserved for those who have served in the American military and their families.
Veterans Day Free Meals
Applebee's
Service members get a free meal when they dine in at Applebee's and provide proof of service.
California Pizza Kitchen
Active and retired members of the United States military will receive a complimentary entrée from a special Veterans Day Menu at participating restaurants.
Denny's
Active, inactive and retired military personnel can build a free Grand Slam breakfast from 5 a.m. until noon at participating Denny's.
Friendly's
Friendly's restaurant will serve free breakfast, lunch or dinner to veterans and active military personnel.
Golden Corral
Veterans will receive a free beverage and buffet meal on Nov. 17 from 5-9 p.m. Golden Corral hosts their Military Appreciation Day on a Monday.
Hooters
Active-duty service members and veterans are invited to get a free entree by presenting a military ID or proof of service.
Red Robin
Veterans and active-duty service members can get a free Red's Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Fries (dine-in only) by providing proof of service or wearing a military uniform.
Veterans Day Free Appetizers, Drinks
Red Lobster
Monday, Nov. 10, through Thursday, Nov. 13, Red Lobster will be thanking active duty, active serving military, reservists and veterans with a free appetizer.
Outback Steakhouse
Outback is honoring members of the Armed Forces (active duty, reserves and retirees) with a free beverage and Bloomin' Onion. You must show a valid military ID at participating restaurants.
Veterans Day Dessert Deals
Baskin Robbins
In honor of Veterans Day, Baskin Robbins has designated First Class Camouflage Ice Cream as flavor of the month. Ten cents from each ice cream scoop sold at U.S. locations will be donated to the United Service Organizations.
Cracker Barrel Old Country Store
Veterans get a free Double Chocolate Fudge Coca-Cola Cake dessert. If you're not a veteran, you can buy the dessert or other items and 10 percent of all sales will be donated to the United Service Organizations
DoubleTree by Hilton Cookies
Veterans are invited to receive a free chocolate chip cookie in Dallas, Houston and San Antonio with or without a reservation.
Veterans Day Entertainment Deals
World of Coca-Cola
The World of Coca-Cola in Atlanta offers free admission to active duty, reserves and veterans year-round. From Veterans Day through Sunday, Nov. 16, members of the Armed Forces can purchase up to four half-price general admission tickets for loved ones. Military members and veterans need to present their Armed Forces ID cards.
Veterans Day Shopping Deals
Great Clips
Veterans can receive a free hair cut from Veterans Day through Dec. 31. Customers who come in for salon services on Veterans Day will receive a free haircut gift card to give to veterans.
Marie Callender's
Marie Callender products has teamed up with USO2GO in a program called the Comforts From Home that delivers care kits with games, sports gear, electronics and more to troops in remote world locations. Look for participating products, find the eight-digit code, enter the code on the website and a donation is made. Instructions are given on the company website.
Sleep Number
Through Nov. 16, Sleep Number is offering active and retired military personnel $700 off on a Sleep Number m7 bed along with 24-month financing and free standard shipping. Armed Forces members can also take advantage of additional military offers.
It's a good idea to call before redeeming the offers to ask about limitations and restrictions.
