León Larregui, the lead vocalist for Zoé, was arrested on Nov. 9 in Mexico City after getting aggressive.

According to Univision, Larregui was at a restaurant that didn't want to sell coffee to the musician, and he became aggressive. He was arrested and released a few hours later.

On Twitter, he explained that his arrest had nothing to do with Zoé's concert, which took place on Nov. 8.

"What happened yesterday with the police had nothing to do with what I said [at the concert]," he said on Monday. "Absolutely nothing."

He even responded to a Twitter user claiming that Larregui's arrest was because of his comments against the Mexican government.

"False," he said.

Before the concert ended on Saturday, Larregui asked to hold a moment of silence for the 43 university students that disappeared in Ayotzinapa and have been reported as dead. He then went on to explain that Mexico is in mourning and bleeding and asked what else needs to be done for action to be taken.

"The country is kidnapped by a gang of neanderthals, thieves and murderers," he said. "What country do you want to live in? One where simply demanding your right to a dignified and just life means that you will be made to disappear and be killed?"

Larregui said that people have the power to change what's happening and that one way or another, everyone is responsible for what happened to the Ayotzinapa students.

He encouraged the public to unite and talk, adding that together the country could move forward.

"You are the future of Mexico," Larregui said.

In 2010, the musician was arrested for driving while intoxicated. He was held in a specialized jail for people who commit this crime.
