Rick Ross Hot New Album 2014: 'Hood Billionaire' Rapper Releases 'Movin Bass' Featuring Jay Z [Listen]
Rick Ross has reunited with longtime collaborator Jay Z for the latest single titled "Movin Bass" off his second album of the year, "Hood Billionaire."
The hip-hop duo previously teamed up for Ricky Rozay's "Maybach Music (2008)," "Free Mason (2010)," "Lay Up [Remix] (2012)," Hov's "Magna Carta Holy Grail" hit "F**kwithmeyouknowigotit (2013)," as well as Dr. Dre's "3 Kings (2012)" and DJ Khaled's "They Don't Love You No More (2014)." Their most recent collaboration is "The Devil Is a Lie" off Ross' "Mastermind" LP released in March.
Accompanied by Timbaland-produced jittery drums and a patchwork of studio effects, the Brooklyn emcee holds down the hook. "Got them records jumpin' out the store, we still movin' bass," he raps. "Coppas try to knock us off, and we still movin' bass."
The self-proclaimed "Fat Boy" then jumps on a verse, boasting how his success has not changed his street game. "I'm movin' bass, we outta state, you know my speakers low," he spits. "Put the pistol to your mouth, now show me the safe / Grammy nominated once, but I'm still movin' bass."
The Maybach Music Group boss' street banger featuring the Roc Nation head will be included on his upcoming seventh studio album, which is set for a release on Nov. 24. The 16-track effort will also feature Snoop Dogg, French Montana, R. Kelly, Lil Boosie and Yo Gotti, among others artists.
Last month, Rick Ross discussed club-friendly "Hood Billionaire" with Power 105.1's "The Breakfast Club." "This my Geechi Liberace," he said. "This a gold ring on every finger. We holding the bottles in the sky letting the champagne run down our arm."
"So, it's just that feel-good record. A lot of 808s, real bass heavy," he added. "And it's gon' feel different to you. So it's gonna feel like a full year from the boss."
