Is a Valentine's Day Launch in the Works?
Rumors are circulating that Apple intends to release the Apple Watch on Valentine's Day. A recent report from The Information, a technology news magazine, hints at the holiday release.
Valentine's Day is in February, which would give Apple ample time for the watch's launch. Apple has released products around that holiday previously, such as iOS device storage capacities and pink-colored product models.
Apple has already missed its previous 2014 target for the watch.
Cook and Apple Senior VP of Operations Jeff Williams explained why the company missed the launch date in a September interview with Bloomberg Businessweek.
"We could have done the watch much earlier, honestly, but not at the fit and finish and quality and integration of these products," Williams said. "And so we are willing to wait."
The Apple Watch is scheduled for release in early 2015 with a retail price of $349.
