Kanye West Paparazzi Fight 2013: Rapper Says He Respects French Photographers More Than American Ones
Right after Friday's (September 27) controversial confrontation with two photographers outside of his house in California, Kanye West turns his attitude 180. The rapper flew to France, where he appreciates the way he's approached by French paparazzi.
On Monday, Kanye is caught in the video clip exiting his car. "Don't ask me no questions. Don't ask questions. Just take the video," he first warns photographers/videographers in France. Then he notices that they were actually following his no-questions request. West continues by comparing Parisian paparazzi to American paparazzi, and says how the treatment is so much different from the treatment he receives from American paparazzi.
"Don't do like the L.A. [paparazzi]. I like how you guys, like, move out here. You guys have total respect for yourselves. You've got respect for the people you photograph. You also take time off at like 8 o'clock. You're not around people's houses and stuff like that. I just really appreciate and respect that. I understand that you have to make a living. Let me shake your hand. I appreciate that [the respectfulness]."
Kanye compliments Parisian paparazzi on their respect and professionalism, and even gives the paparazzi a handshake. Through the kind exchange, he surprises and proves many wrong by being polite toward paparazzi.
In addition, the video clip shows a French woman, who didn't recognize Kanye West, asking the photographers who they were following. French paparazzi ask West whether or not they could respond. After nodding "yes," he introduces himself and shakes her hand. He says, "I'm Kanye. How you doing?"
