Nick Jonas Hot New Music 2014: Singer Transforms 'Jealous' Into a Gospel Song
Shortly after his self-titled sophomore eponymous studio album hit stores across the U.S. on Nov. 10, Nick Jonas shocked the Internet when it he released a heavenly rendition of his hit single "Jealous" to rave reviews.
This spirited remix of the song was released hot on the heels of another version, following the very sexy remix collaboration with critically acclaimed R&B singer Tinashe. With a gospel choir in tow, Jonas get the congregation clapping while he croons the verses and belts the choruses, some singers trading off some of the lyrics of the song with him.
"Going back to my roots - Jealous, the Gospel Remix," Jonas tweeted on Nov. 9, posting a link to the newly released clop across various social media platforms. Music lovers and press came out in support of the single.
MTV wrote that fans "instantly became 'addicted' to the [two-minute] video with some taking to Twitter to say they were getting 'so turnt,' while others said the song felt like 'waking up in heaven.'"
Perez Hilton notes, "Nick Jonas may have missed his calling as a preacher."
Far away from his days as one-third of the Jonas Brothers, the successful promise-ring pimping pop rock boy-band with hits "Year 3000," "Burnin' Up" and "SOS," Nick Jonas shed his teen idol image after a racy photo shoot in the November issue of Flaunt magazine, which included a spread inspired by Marky Mark's iconic 1992 Calvin Klein underwear campaign. The 22-year-old followed that up with flaunting his sculpted physique for gay clubs and joining the cast of the DirecTV series "Kingdom," where he plays Nate Kulina, an MMA fighter, amplifying his audience even greater than before.
During his extensive promotional tour for the album, Jonas also made a hilarious appearance on "The Tonight Show" opposite pop star Usher and actor Jeff Daniels, which he promptly followed up with a steamy lyric video of the album's third single, "Teacher," which PopSugar called "an adult version of 'Sesame Street.'" A music video for the single is expected to drop by year's end.
