Madden NFL 15 Review, Gameplay, Week 11 Player Ratings, & Roster on PS4, Xbox One: Hands-On Review
I recently picked up Madden 15 for Xbox 360 and immediately dove into the create-your-own franchise mode after beating a few players in the online head-to-head mode.
I chose the mode wherein you actually get to create your own player. Additionally, I chose a fantasy draft to completely recreate the league.
I entered my stats to make the player identical to me. I made him 6-foot and 192 pounds. I chose quarterback as the position, perhaps a mistake but no worries.
My player ended up going undrafted and being picked up by the Eagles. I ended up being the team's third string quarterback.
As the season progressed, I did all the recommended drills and coaching to increase the XP points and attributes of my new player. I increased the awareness, strength, speed and several other characteristics as high as I could.
I simulated all the games and selected the option to "sim to my next play." Of course, I was third string so that just meant simulating the whole game.
My Eagles ended up going 15-1 that year and winning the Super Bowl. My character got a ring but then was released in the offseason. At least I have the ring to prove it.
I tried to continue improving my character, but no team ended up picking me up. I was only a 78 overall rating (OVR). Madden NFL 15 told me it was "time to retire." I tried to say no, but I had to hang up the cleats and lose all the time and effort I put into my player. Maybe next year!
The create-a-player mode was really frustrating. I went through all the motions of improving this player, only to be cut the next season. It seems like Madden 15 could at least give you a few years to try and catch on with a team before forcing you to retire.
