Latin Social Media Roundup: Shakira and Jennifer Lopez Celebrate Landmarks With 'La La La (Brazil 2014)' and 'True Love' Book [Pics]
This week's Latin Social Media Roundup stars bilingual Latina superstars Shakira and Jennifer Lopez.
On Friday, under handle @shakira, Shakira tweeted about the success of "La La La (Brazil 2014)."
"Wow, the La La La (Brazil 2014) video has passed 400 million views!! https://youtu.be/7-7knsP2n5w ShakHQ #daretodream," she wrote.
"La La La (Brazil 2014)" is the second theme song for the 2014 World Cup. It's from the Colombian singer-songwriter's 10th album, 2014's "Shakira."The song features Brazilian musician Carlinhos Brown, and the Afro-Brazilian heritage music video is tremendously popular. It features a variety of football players including Neymar, Eric Abidal, Sergio Agüero, Cesc Fàbregas, Radamel Falcao, Lionel Messi and James Rodríguez. Shakira's boyfriend, Barcelona soccer star Gerard Piqué, and their son, Milan, appear in the video as well.
Shakira and Piqué have been together for four years and they are currently pregnant with their second child, which they recently announced will be a boy, according to MailOnline. USA Today reports the mom-to-be is partnering with Fisher Price to release a line of baby toys, and a Web series for moms.
Meanwhile, Jennifer Lopez posted a photo to her Facebook page of her sitting at a desk and writing on a Macbook.
The picture was posted in celebration of the 45-year-old becoming a The New York Times best-selling author with her first-ever book, "True Love." The book, which was released earlier this month, quickly made its way to the top-5 on The New York Times' Hardcover Non-fiction chart, and it is No. 7 on the overall Combined Print and E-Book Non-Fiction chart.
The memoir describes when the "On the Floor" singer knew she had to divorce her third husband, Marc Anthony, as well as what she learned through trials and tribulations during the two-year period following her divorce.
Proceeds from "True Love" sales will go to the Lopez Family Foundation, a nonprofit organization co-founded by Lopez that helps to improve the health and well-being of women and children.
