GTA 5 Online Problems and Fix: Grand Theft Auto V Feature Launch Met With Issues
The Grand Theft Auto 5 online feature has already been launched yesterday, but not without any problems in gameplay.
One of the biggest and most successful video games ever, GTA 5 has been a great hit since its release in September. The game, which was released on both the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 consoles, has sold more than $1 billion-worth of video games already. While it has been welcomed with rave reviews, one of the most awaited parts of the game is the online feature.
Released as a follow up feature, the online aspect of the game allows gamers to play in an open-world type of gameplay where they can interact with other online gamers as well. However, gamers were not satisfied with the feature. In fact, some of them weren't even able to play GTA 5 online.
According to Sky News, millions of GTA 5 gamers were faced with server issues - some complained about loading failures, while others were repeatedly disconnected from the online feature.
However, game publisher Rockstar Games was quick to address the issues.
"We apologize for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this," Rockstar's support page noted.
The page also identified the issues noted by gamers that they were already looking into. These include:
- Occasional "Rockstar Cloud Servers Unavailable" error message
- Freezing sometimes while loading into first race in GTAO with "waiting for other players" on the screen
- Intermittent "Failed to Host a GTA Online Session" error messages
- Race Corona (start area, marker) occasionally not showing up for first race
- Errors saying "Timed out when matchmaking for a compatible GTA Online Session to join"
- Occasional errors about jobs failing to start or load
- General issues with the Social Club site and Social Club features (slow loading, failed logins, emails not arriving, etc).
- Misc. network and server-related error messages, disconnections, or cloud server errors
- Errors saying "Mission Failed" as soon as the mission begins during a session
An update on the page posted at 1:00 a.m. on Oct. 2 also noted that they are already working "around the clock" to resolve the impending issues of the online feature. Rockstar Games promised gamers however, that they will continue to work on the issues until they find a solution.
