Canada will test their mettle against Panama when they collide in an international friendly match on Tuesday at Estadio Rommel Fernandez in Panama City.

The Canadians will look to bounce back from their 1-0 loss against Colombia last month, and coach Benito Floro feels that their game against their CONCACAF rival will be a big test for their squad.

"The [Central American] players, they're tricky, cunning, they play a different way," Floro said on Monday via MLS Soccer. "The second reason is the weather. They're used to the heat; they're used to playing in that weather. And for us, it's more difficult coming from the colder weather."

Veteran Dwayne De Rosario knows how difficult it is to go up against Panama, especially on their home turf, where he suffered a broken leg during a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying match in September 2012.

The star midfielder is convinced, though, that Tuesday's match will be crucial to their preparation for the 2018 World Cup qualifying matches.

"It's very important for [the younger players on the team] to experience this at a young age. I'm always a big advocate of us playing more CONCACAF games," De Rosario said via Goal. "When qualifiers come, they've already had a taste of it and they know what to expect and they can be better prepared. I think this is just another step in the right direction."

On the other hand, Panama will look to pick up from where they left off in their 3-1 win against El Salvador on Friday, which came a month after they took a disappointing 1-0 loss to Mexico.

Tuesday's match against their CONCACAF rival will also be an important one for Panama as they are also at the crucial stage of their preparation for the qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

Schedule, How to Watch

The Canada-Panama friendly match is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. EDT. Fans can catch this all-CONCACAF showdown through online live streaming via this link.

Predictions

Both teams know each other very well after going up against each other several times over the past several years. In their most recent meeting, which happened in July 2013, Canada and Panama settled for a goalless draw.

It will not be a surprise if Tuesday's match also ends the same way as their previous meeting, but Panama will likely escape with a one-point win as they are very comfortable playing in front of their hometown fans.
