Prince Royce Talks Upcoming English Language Album, New 'Stuck On a Feeling' Single Featuring Snoop Dogg [Video]
Prince Royce may be a mainstay of Latin music, but the Dominican artist is looking to expand.
The Bronx-born singer, who just recently released his first English-language single featuring Snoop Dogg, will be releasing a mostly English album in 2015, notes Billboard. The album will be feature a mix of mainstream and Latin artists.
"The album doesn't have a name, but truthfully, I am very happy about this new chapter of my life," the 25-year-old singer said according to Telemundo Dallas. "It's a urban pop album, with a little bit of Spanish, too. Many songs have Latin flavor, the tropical flavor. It's a fusion of different things. I think the public is going to like it."
"Stuck On a Feeling," which is the song Prince Royce teamed up on with Snoop Dogg, is officially out on Nov. 24. He has already released a lyric video for the song.
When Prince Roye first heard the "Stuck On a Feeling," he was taken back to his roots, he said according to Billboard.
"And from the beginning, I could hear Snoop doing it," he explained. "So we reached out and it was amazing how fast he jumped on the track, and when I heard the verse it was exactly how I pictured it."
The music video was filmed in Los Angeles and directed by Colin Tilley.
There has not been an Spanish to English crossover artist in a while. Royce, who was initially signed on to Top Stop Music and is now with Sony Music Entertainment, is hoping to be the next artist to make the switch.
Prince Royce is nominated for four Latin Grammys and is focused on the award show that takes place on Nov. 20.
"I'm excited for those nominations and for hopefully winning in my first Latin Grammy," he said. "The fact that it's bachata music makes it special. It's a genre that just keeps growing and just being nominated is not so common."
