Migos 'Versace' Video Release: ATL Duo Unveils Extravagant New Music Video
Not only did Migos take the beat from Soulja Boy's "OMG Part 2," they absolutely killed it. The ATL duo finally drops the music video to their summertime smash hit "Versace," which was released July 2013. In the Gabriel Hart-directed visual, the pair takes extravagance to the next level.
The setting is a lavish mansion in L.A. with models rocking Versace. The craziness continues as a giant game of chess is played between two Versace-d out women. Halfway through the video, there is a brief snippet of another Migos' song, "Hannah Montana." This portion of the video shows a group of white girls, clad in all white, swarming Migos and having a twerk-off competition. After the short interlude, the scene goes back to the "gated community" with its Renaissance-style ceiling frescos.
Also, a cheetah is involved as Migos raps "Cheetah print on my sleeve / but I ain't never been in the jungle," which makes the visual even more exotically luxurious.
The music video features the song's producer Zaytoven and Donatella Versace, the sister of Versace founder Gianni, as cameos. Donatella lounges on a couch.
Despite the rumor that Drake, who helped Migos to the mainstream, would feature in the video, neither Drake nor his remix verse appear in the video.
It's glorious. Migos' "Versace" definitely got everyone to represent the Medusa head now.
In addition, Migos has re-released their mixtape "Y.R.N." in July, this time for sale. Both "Versace" and "Hannah Montana" are in the retail version of the project.
