Drake to Launch OVO Merch Shop Soon: Will the 'How About Now' Rapper Launch the October's Very Own Store in Toronto? [Pics]
Drake is currently getting ready to offer his label-turned-lifestyle brand October's Very Own to the street, this time in a permanent location.
The "Hold On, We're Going Home" rapper, who created the varsity jacket with Roots and successfully collaborated with Air Jordans, previously set up several pop-up shops as recent as this summer that sold various merchandise: t-shirts, zip-up hoodies, pullovers, hats and even flandanas.
Last month, Oliver El-Khatib, the creative head of OVO, took to his Instagram account to tease the first look at the upcoming store. The image sees a storefront with the OVO symbol printed on paper that completely covered the window:
This month, Drizzy detailed his merch project by sharing an Instagram photo of a shop exterior -- a modern, basic brick structure in a dark color tone with the gold outline of the famous owl logo and large glass windows that are still covered.
"Proud of my guy @oliverelkhatib OVO Store opening soon. #6Side," he wrote in the caption.
The post also gave a shout-out to Drake's right-hand man El-Khatib, who will help to get the store open and running, as well as Drake's highly anticipated fourth studio album "Views from the 6":
Although the Young Money emcee did not give a specific date or location, the hashtag "#6Side" hints that he will most likely launch the store in his hometown of Toronto, as the 6 represents the city's two most prominent area codes -- 416 and 646.
Meanwhile, the "Worst Behavior" hitmaker is also working on the release of his forthcoming record -- so far, he has released a bunch of tracks, including the most recent "Heat of the Moment," "6 God" and "How Bout Now," as well as "0 to 100 / The Catch Up" and "Catch No Feelings."
Drake's OVO shop is expected to sell apparel similar to his previous merch lines.
