Eminem Hot New 'Guts Over Fear' Music Video 2014: Is Slim Shady Apologizing to Iggy Azalea Over Rape Threat? [Watch]
Eminem released a new music video for his latest single "Guts over Fear" featuring Sia -- which includes the lyrics seemingly apologizing to Iggy Azalea for his recent rape threat.
Last week, Slim Shady dropped a Bad Meets Evil track titled "Vegas" with Royce Da 5' 9'' that has some quite offensive lines that allude to rape, while clearly referencing the Australian emcee.
"Grab you by the wrist, let's ski / So, what's it gon' be?" he spits. "Put that s**t away, Iggy / You gon' blow that rape whistle on me."
However, Marshall Mathers now regrets the "pain" he caused others in his new song produced by Emile Haynie, John Hill and himself, rapping: "It just breaks my heart to look at all the pain I caused /â¨But what am I gonna do when the rage is gone? / And I'm frozen cause there's no more emotion for me to pull from / Just a bunch of playful songs that I made for fun."
In addition, the Syndrome-directed visual filmed in Em's hometown of Detroit follows the story of a boxer and his hardships in life. It opens with the athlete about to enter the ring then goes back to a scene from six months ago, when he was a dishwasher at a restaurant.
The main character struggles to pay bills at home, while working hard to support his pregnant wife and alcoholic father. He then loses his job at the restaurant but his endeavor eventually leads him to success and victory.
Although she does not make a guest appearance in the music video, Sia is heard singing the hook -- "I was afraid to make a single sound / Afraid I will never find a way out / Afraid I'd never be found / So here I am and I will not run / Guts over fear (the time is near) / Guts over fear (I shed a tear)."
Eminem's "Guts over Fear" is the lead single off his recently released 15th anniversary album "Shady XV." Check out the music video below:
