Drake 'Wu-Tang Forever' Song Liat: U-God Talks About Verse on Unreleased Remix
Drake has made some Wu-Tang Clan references throughout his recently released third studio album, "Nothing Was The Same." For instance, a line from "Tuscan Leather" is about him listening to Cappadonna. He raps, "I sip the Pora and listen to Cappadonna." The rapper takes it to the next level by getting the Wu on the remix to his "Wu-Tang Forever" tribute. U-God is one of the Wu-Tang Clan members who will appear on the remix.
U-God talks about his verse on unreleased "Wu-Tang Forever" remix,
"I put my verse in it. I'm too rough. I'm too raw... I had to write my dart fast. Being down with the Clan, it gave me the skill to write fast and precise with the dart. At one time, I had to be like that in order to get a slot on the mic. You had to be swift, hard and to the point... So, I had to do the same thing. We only had two hours in the studio to write this joint 'cause we was on tour when we got the record."
"I didn't hear the beat 'til I got there, so I didn't get a chance to marinate with it," U-God continues. "So I just threw my dart how I felt. I was saying some murderous ish. I was saying some rawness. And now that I listen to the joint now, I'm like 'Damn, he was talking 'bout a broad.' I might've been too rough for y'all, man."
In addition, U-God confirms appearances from Cappadonna and Masta Killa on the remix, and reveals Cappadonna's tie with Drake even before Drake became a celebrity.
"Cappadonna did a song with Drake before y'all even knew Drake. Cap's still got the song. He got the record."
