Jenni Rivera Death Update 2014: Lupillo Rivera Talks Upcoming Anniversary, Says He Hasn't Read Niece Chiquis' Book
Lupillo Rivera was on "El Gordo Y La Flaca," and family was one of the main topics of conversation.
His sister, Jenni Rivera, died on Dec. 9, 2012, so now that the two-year anniversary of her death is coming up, Lupillo talked more about how he feels during this time of year.
"It's a very sad day," he said. "You remember things of the last moments, like the 31st of October, which was the last party she and I went to. This coming weekend I'll be in Mexico at the last place that I saw her, the last time I hugged her, the last time I sang with her on stage."
To celebrate Jenni's life, Lupillo is going to use his radio show, "De Farra Con Lupillo," to pay tribute, he said. For four hours, it will be all things Jenni. He will play her music, broadcast an interview with her and add a few other surprises.
"Every day is difficult," he added. "But the 9th [of December] stings more."
When host Raul de Molina asked Lupillo about the drama that exists between himself and his brothers, Lupillo changed the topic. He instead tried to talk about his own music, saying that it is his main focus nowadays.
But de Molina wasn't ready to give up.
"And Chiquis?" de Molina asked about the singer's niece.
Lupillo laughed and just said that he was going to keep on singing.
Host Alejandra Espinoza then added that Lupillo has probably been too busy to even read Chiquis' upcoming book, "Perdon."
"I haven't read absolutely anything," he said. "Like I said, I am concentrating on my radio show."
Still, this wasn't enough for de Molina, who then posed a hypothetical to Lupillo. De Molina wondered if Lupillo's parents asked him and his siblings to gather to make peace, if he would attend.
"Well, I don't know because I'll be in Mexico," Lupillo said.
The singer explained that the holidays are a busy time for artists and that he won't be celebrating in a traditional way.
