"Keeping Up with the Kardashians" reality TV starlet Kylie Jenner and rapper Tyga have been at the epicenter of spicy rumors that the two have hooked up romantically and may even be dating.

The high-profile power duo met for a dinner date this week, but it's not what you think. Jenner and Tyga spent Thanksgiving Eve together in Los Angeles, serving food to the homeless.

In a nod to urban philanthropy, the two stars took part as volunteers at an annual Thanksgiving holiday dinner for the homeless on Wednesday. The yearly gig is sponsored by the Los Angeles Mission, a charitable organization that "exists to provide help, hope and opportunity to men, women and children in need," according to the Mission website.

Despite what the infamous Hollywood paparazzi seem to think, Jenner and Tyga didn't get involved with this event just to stand there next to each other looking pretty and serving as the other's arm candy, on display for fans around the world. Although they did spend the day and evening side by side and were reported by a certain British tabloid to not be able to "keep their eyes off of each other," the kids were there to work.

Stationed alongside each other, the pair tied on red aprons and immediately found themselves knee deep in huge pans of green beans and yams. They spend the pre-Thanksgiving soiree serving the area's needy population at the event site which was located near Skid Row in downtown Los Angeles, E! News reported.

According to International Business Times, several other big name celebrities did their part alongside Jenner and Tyga. Other stars spotted at the L.A. Mission Thanksgiving shindig included George Lopez, Oksana Grigorieva, Sara Rue, Patricia Heaton and more.

As reported in a number of media bytes currently making the rounds, the two stars of this particular news bit have been friends for ages, but over the past several month it reportedly appears they've grown close. Tyga even flew Jenner out to Europe to spend time with him when he found himself missing the cozy niche he'd made for himself within the Jenner/Kardashian clan.

Whatever level of closeness and intimacy the duo have achieved as of late, both of them steadfastly insist that there is absolutely nothing romantic going on between them.

Design and Trend reports that in a recent interview with E! News on Nov. 14, when Jenner was asked about the dizzying romance rumors the starlet persistently insisted "I'm single!"

A month earlier during an on-air appearance with Ryan Seacrest, Kardashian mom Kris Jenner assured the TV personality that her daughter was indeed single and reportedly "on the market."

"[Tyga is part of] this whole little group of kids who have been around forever...they kind of all travel as a pack and they enjoy each other's company," Mama Jenner told Seacrest. "We all live in the same neighborhood. [Tyga] used to live across the street for a long time and now he lives next door to Khloe. Khloe and Kourtney just moved up the street so we have all the kids in the same neighborhood, which is really wonderful.

"I've kind of got tabs on it right now and it's kind of exciting," the Jenner matriarch added.

While Mama Jenner undoubtedly took some of the heat off of the Kylie/Tyga romance rumor mill for a little while at least, the reports of the pair's friendship evolving into a more flirty type of fling continue to spread like wildfire through online news and gossip outlets, on-air on TV and in real life.

While fans of the pair very well know that the decent thing to do is back off and give these kids some space to see if anything ends up flourishing, well, it seems they just can't help themselves. And you know what they say -- where there's smoke, there's almost always fire. But only time will tell if this flame will sizzle or fizzle.
