During a recent interview with Howard Stern, Lady Gaga revealed that she had been raped at the age of 19.

Gaga's shocking revelation was in response to Stern's question about the "Cheek to Cheek" singer's provocative performance for her song "Swine" at SXSW earlier this year, the New York Daily News reports.

Gaga defended her performance explaining that the performance correlated with the song's message about "rape" and "demoralization."

"The song is about rage and fury and passion, and I had a lot of pain that I wanted to release," she continued.

Gaga's response then prompted Stern to ask whether Gaga was a victim of rape to which she replied that she has raped at 19 years old by a man who was "20 years older" than her.

"I was a shell of my former self at one point. I was not myself," she revealed. "To be fair, I was about 19. I went to Catholic school and then all this crazy stuff happened, and I was going, 'Oh, is this just the way adults are?' ... I was very naïve."

Gaga went on to explain that it wasn't until "about four to five years later" that she finally realized the magnitude of what had happened to her in her teens. Since then, she's been traumatized and has been unable to confront her assailant ever since.

Although Gaga did not share the name of her rapist, Mark Geragos -- the lawyer of pop singer Kesha -- tweeted the hashtag #namethepervert following Gaga's interview, People reports.

Social media users immediately began naming people who they thought might have Gaga's assailant. One social media user even named Kesha's alleged rapist, Dr. Luke, to which Geragos replied, "#bingo," says People.

Despite Geragos' claims, both Gaga and Dr. Luke's reps have come forward to TMZ to deny Geragos' allegations.

"It's absolutely not true," Gaga's rep told TMZ about Dr. Luke.

Dr. Luke's rep supported Gaga's statement, adding, "Luke met Lady Gaga twice for less than half an hour total in those two meetings combined. He has never been alone with her and never touched her. Neither meeting was in that time frame reported."

Still, Gergaos is sticking to his initial claims and allegedly told TMZ that Gaga along with three other women who are "not as famous" will be deposed in Kesha's sexual assault lawsuit against Dr. Luke.
