Real Housewives of New Jersey Cast News: Star Teresa Giudice Loses Spinoff Show, Sues Lawyer for $5 Milllion
On Wednesday, "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" star Teresa Giudice filed a $5 million lawsuit against her lawyer for being what she claims is the reason for why she is going to jail for 15 months, the New York Daily News reports.
Giudice -- who is sentenced to 15 months in prison for bankruptcy fraud -- claims that her lawyer, James Kridel "botched her family's original bankruptcy filing in 2010 and then prepared faulty amendments," say the NY Daily news.
Giudice also claims that Kridel "inadequately prepared" her for her hearing before the Federal Bankruptcy court trustee and creditors.
TMZ reports that Kridel has yet to speak publicly on Giudice's lawsuit.
Giudice is set to report to jail in January and will spend her 15-month sentence at the same jail that is filmed for the hit Netflix show "Orange Is the New Black."
Prior to her lawsuit, the Daily Mail reported that Giudice would star in her own Bravo spin-off cooking show, following her bid in jail.
According to the Daily Mail, Giudice was allegedly set to earn $2 million for her show, however Radar Online claims that the spin-off reports aren't true.
"Bravo would never sign Teresa up for her own show after everything that has gone down!" says a RadarOnline source. "It seems like someone that was once close to Teresa is now floating false stories about her, hoping to get back in good favor with her. It's not going to work."
The source also adds that Bravo "feels used, and was stunned Teresa said in court documents that the show was a sham."
Radar Online also claims that Giudice is "desperately trying to figure out" ways to pay off the rest of her $210,000 restitution. She is not being presented with any job offers, which is making it increasingly hard for her to stay afloat financially.
