J. Cole Hot New Music & 'Fire Squad': Iggy Azalea, Eminem, Justin Timberlake, Macklemore Dissed In New Song?
J. Cole is not holding back in his latest song.
In "Fire Squad," which will be featured on his upcoming album, "2014 Forest Hills Drive," the rapper talks about Iggy Azalea, Macklemore, Justin Timberlake and Eminem, notes HollywoodLife.com.
Some of the lyrics say: "History repeats itself and that's just how it goes / same way that these rappers always bite each other's flows / Same thing that my ni**a Elvis did with rock 'n' roll / Justin Timberlake, Eminem, and then Macklemore."
The part of the song that talks about Iggy Azalea were perhaps the harshest. He doesn't just include her in a list of people. J. Cole focuses on her, alluding to the fact that the Australian rapper recently won both the favorite artist and favorite album for the rap/hip hop category.
"While silly n***as argue over who gon' snatch the crown / Look around my n***a, white people have snatched the sound / This year I'll probably go to the awards dappered down / Watch Iggy win a Grammy as I try to crack a smile."
J. Cole continues by saying that he is kidding but that "all good jokes" contain an element of truth.
Azealia Banks also called out Iggy Azalea recently.
On Wednesday night, Banks said that Azalea does not care about the black community. Banks was prompted to call her out after a series of incidents where black citizens were killed by cops. That night, a grand jury decided not to indict a police officer who was taped using a chokehold on a black man named Eric Garner.
"Black Culture is cool, but black issues sure aren't huh?" she said in one tweet.
Banks had a series of tweets that were all directed at Azalea, which prompted Azalea to respond. The blonde rapper explained that just because she doesn't talk about it on social media doesn't mean she doesn't care.
Azalea also shared a link to give people more information about what they could do to help.
"Here are some actual productive ways you can help..." she said in all capitals.
