Kate Hudson and Matt Bellamy Breakup: Actress Confirms Broken Engagement, Moves on to 'Dancing With the Stars'' Derek Hough? [Watch]
Actress Kate Hudson and musician Matthew Bellamy have called off their engagement after four years of being together.
Hudson's rep recently told People that the Hollywood couple has "been separated for some time now"; however they "still remain friends" and are "committed co-parents" despite the end of their relationship.
Hudson and Bellamy have one son together, Bingham "Bing" Hawn Bellamy, 3, while Hudson had another son Ryder Robinson, 10, from her previous marriage to Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson (Hudson and Robinson split in Nov. 2006).
Though Hudson and Bellamy never officially tied the knot, Hudson previously told "The View" that she already felt married to Bellamy, ABC reports.
"I'm happy, we're married," she said back in July. "We've got kids and a family. ... We are in it. I think if we do get married it will be for the kids really. ... We're happy and ... we'll get there when we get there."
In a separate interview on "Live With Kelly & Michael," Hudson justified the wait to get married because her mother, Goldie Hawn, and Hawn's boyfriend, Kurt Russell, have been together for 30 years without getting married.
"I come from an unconventional family; they're not married, my parents aren't married. ... And it's a lot. Planning a wedding is a lot. I mean, I did a movie about planning a wedding, and that was a lot, let alone actually planning a wedding. So, no. Not anytime soon, no," she said.
People reports that Bellamy proposed to Hudson back in April 2011.
Since the news of the couple's split, Hudson is now being linked to dancer Derek Hough. Us Weekly reports that Hudson was seen on a date with Hough at Nice Guy restaurant in Los Angeles. The two were seem drinking, eating and stayed at the restaurant past closing time.
Neither Hough nor Hudson has commented on their rumored relationship.
