Upon releasing his highly anticipated third solo album "2014 Forest Hills Drive" on Tuesday, J. Cole also premiered a brand new music video for his latest single titled "Apparently."

The simple visual gives the North Carolina-raised lyrist space to reflect on his life back home before fame.

"This is my canvas / I'mma paint it how I want it baby, oh I," he raps in front of an empty projection screen. "There is no right or wrong, only a song / I like to write alone, be in my zone / Think back to Forest Hills, no perfect home."

Cole then takes time to apologize to his mother and girl for his selfish ways.

"I'm so sorry that I left you there to deal with that alone / I was up in New York City chasin' panties, gettin' dome," he spits. "Had no clue what you was goin' through / How could you be so strong?"

The song continues with J. Cole questioning his own selfishness.

"And how could I be so selfish, I know I can be so selfish," he continues. "I could tell by how I treat you with my girl / Damn she so selfless, but she put up with my way / Because she loves me like you do / And though it don't always show I love her just like I love you / And I need to treat you better."

Meanwhile, "2014 Forest Hills Drive" (stream here) is expected to sell between 240,000 and 270,000 copies in its first week, Hip Hop Early reports. This is pretty low, due to the fact that the "Born Sinner" rapper announced his 13-track project just three weeks ago and did not drop any initial singles ahead.

"2014 Forest Hills Drive" was released on Dec. 9.

"Apparently" is the second track off J. Cole's new record to get a music video, following last week's "Intro" clip, in which he rides through the New York City streets. Check it out below:
