'Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice' Movie Cast News: Henry Cavill and MMA Girlfriend Gina Carano Reportedly Break Up Again
"Man of Steel" actor Henry Cavill and MMA fighter Gina Carano have allegedly broken up for the second time.
According to an E! News source, the breakup "happened a while ago."
The reason for the couple's second split has yet to be revealed.
The Daily Mail reports that Cavill and Carano first began dating back in September 2012 following the break-up of Cavill's engagement to show jumping rider Ellen Whitaker.
The pair eventually split in May, and then two months later, Cavill began dating "The Big Bang Theory" actress Kaley Cuoco. However, the Cuoco-Cavill pairing was short-lived as they reportedly only lasted for two weeks. Some fans even speculated that Cuoco and Cavill's courtship was a publicly stunt.
After her breakup from Cavill, Cuoco went on to share her opinion on her short-lived romance for Cosmopolitan's May issue.
"I had no one following me until I met Superman," she said. "I've been in this business for 20 years, and my whole life, I could go anywhere, do anything. There had not been one paparazzi photo of me until like several months ago. The recognition was crazy."
Following his split from Cuoco, Cavill rekindled his romance with Carano. E! News reports that Carano and Cavill were "spotted sharing glasses of red wine on a romantic date in Rome" in October of last year. Later that year in January, the pair adopted an Akita puppy.
At the time of their puppy adoption, the family breeders who tended to the on-again couple's needs released a statement praising the pair for their kind personalities and joyous spirits.
"Both Henry and Gina are genuine and a joy to be around," the breeders gushed. "It was truly an honor to add them to our extended family and thank them for their patience in meeting us and our children. It's not every day that an A-list celebrity, much less 2 celebrities, come to Beebe, AR to visit."
