Destiny has to expand, change and constantly challenge gamers or it will lose them. As Destiny Expansion I: The Dark Below has been hitting consoles and PCs this week, one player found a clue that Bungie might be adding a new multiplayer mode soon, as well.

The hint of a new multiplayer mode -- one that would strip away most elements of gameplay in favor of focusing on basic weapons and combat strategy -- might have been leaked on Reddit this week.

Destiny player and Reddit user KingOfCarrotFlowers dropped a post recently (via Gamespot) purporting to have found a Grimoire card that described a special Crucible gameplay mode called "Inferno."

Here's the description purportedly taken straight from the card:

"A modified variant of multiple Crucible match types, Inferno tests your Light against the darkest of conditions.

"Darkness prevails, leaving Guardians to rely on their weaponry and combat skills alone. The enemy can only be found by sight and sound alone. Rely on your teammates and keen tracking to stalk your enemies and shut them down without the trust in your most powerful abilities.

"True skill put to the ultimate test. No trackers. No Supers. No bonuses. Only kills earn points."

Whether or not -- or how quickly -- Bungie might implement the game mode is of course up to speculation. The company has previously been rumored to be working on other gameplay additions, such as Raid matchmaking, only to later respond that hopeful gamers shouldn't hold their breath.

But making sure gamers don't lose interest in Destiny should be a top priority for Bungie, whose first major expansion pack "The Dark Below" was released this week -- only to have its featured Crota's End raid beaten within six hours.

Would you want to play Inferno? Or do you think it would turn into a camping sniper fest? Let us know in the comments!
