The Golden State Warriors are one best 3-point shooting teams this season, but they are still looking to add more outside gunners.

Warriors general manager Bob Myers confirmed that they have reached out to free-agent shooting guard Ray Allen, who is being coveted by several championship contenders this season.

Adding Allen would give the Warriors another strong threat from beyond the arc aside from Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, who have combined for 118 3-pointers this season.

However, Myers said that they did not get a firm answer from Allen, saying that 39-year-old guard's plan is still uncertain at this point. He also added that they have fears that Allen won't be interested in signing with them because of the limited opportunity that he would get playing behind Curry and Thompson.

James Herbert of CBS Sports said that signing Allen does not make sense for the Warriors, considering the fact that reserve guards Andre Iguodala, Shaun Livingston and Leandro Barbosa are playing quality minutes for Golden State, who hold the best record in the league at 19-2.

Aside from the Warriors, the Cleveland Cavaliers made it no secret that they want to sign Allen in the hope of improving their title chances this season.

Cavaliers superstar LeBron James reportedly tried to convince Allen to move to Cleveland for a reunion with former Miami Heat teammates Mike Miller and James Jones.

However, Allen, who averaged 9.6 points to go along with 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists last season, remains undecided about his future as he is also considering retirement.

According to Ryen Russillo of ESPN, Allen is planning to wait until February to decide if he will play for another season. But if he decides to make a final run this season, Russillo said that the Cavaliers are still favored to land the 18-year veteran, who holds a career average of 18.9 points.

Boston Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge also said earlier in the season that Allen plans to wait until before the All-Star break before making a decision as he is still gauging the title chances of teams who expressed interest in signing him.
