ABC 'Scandal' Season 4 News: Creator Shonda Rhimes Calls Sony Execs 'Racist' After Hacked Emails Are Leaked
Producer and screenwriter Shonda Rhimes is the latest public figure to respond to the controversial email exchanges between producer Scott Rudin and Sony Pictures co-chair Amy Pascal, TV Guide reports.
Several email correspondences between Rudin and Pascal were recently leaked by hackers from North Korea, The Guardian reports.
So far the hackers have leaked a series of the Sony heavyweights' emails regarding a number of A-list celebrities and public figures including Amy Adams, Kevin Hart, Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Lawrence and Barack Obama.
In the email about Obama, Rubin tells Pascal that he is attending a breakfast sit-down with the president and pokes fun at the idea that the his favorite movies would be "12 Years a Slave," "Django Unchained," and Lee Daniels' "The Butler."
Both Pascal and Rudin have since apologized for what they are calling "racially insensitive" emails, however Rhimes is now accusing the Sony execs of being racist rather than "racially insensitive" via Twitter.

Kevin Hart also responded via Instagram to the Sony execs who labeled him as a "whore" after Hart's team requested that the comedian be paid more money for promoting his upcoming film "The Wedding Ringer" on social media. Check out Hart's Instagram post below.
Rev. Al Sharpton recently addressed the email leak in a statement obtained by The New York Times where he described them as "offensive, troubling, and insulting." Sharpton also compared Pascal to Donald Sterling, who was the topic of headlines earlier this year for making racist remarks about NBA players and African American people.
