'Fifty Shades of Grey' Movie Cast, Release Date & News: Nicki Minaj Channels Christian Grey by Dominating Chris Brown, Drake and Lil Wayne in New 'Only' Video [Watch]
“Fifty Shades of Grey” can be considered a little bit vanilla compared to the music video Nicki Minaj released a few days ago. However, neither of them really does the BDSM community or scene any justice.
Rapper Nicki Minaj teams up with Drake, Chris Brown and Lil Wayne for her newest single,“Only,” part of her new album “The Pinkprint,” which was released on Monday Time magazine reports.
The almost six-minute long video was directed by Hannah Lux Davis and creates a sort of BDSM club scene. Nicki Minaj wears an all-black, leather, revealing outfit in the music video, which can be considered NSFW because of the profanity-laden lyrics as well as the risqué and sexually explicit behavior seen in the video.
A la Christian Grey, Nicki Minaj appears to be the dominant figure, lording over the three male rappers. This is different from Grey, played by Jamie Dornan in the upcoming movie adaptation, who dominates one woman, Anastasia Steele, played by Dakota Johnson in the movie, in E.L. James' erotic novels.
Constant obscenities aside, the music video has much more gusto than any of the scenes from the “Fifty Shades of Grey” trailers. In fact, Cosmopolitan is very eager to see Christian Grey partake in the Nicki Minaj fun. Although he may not be keen on her scene, it is obvious the rapper wants to partake in the “Fifty Shades of Grey” surge.
During Halloween, Nicki posted some photos on Instagram of her very revealing costume, according to MTV News. The costume’s inspiration, as well as the subsequent photos, hinted that the rapper has been interested in the kinky scene recently.
"Fifty Shades of Grey," which also stars Victor Rasuk and Marcia Gay Harden, hits theaters Feb. 13, 2015.
Watch the music video for “Only” and decide whether Nicki is channeling “Fifty Shades of Grey” or not:
