There are only three episodes left before the series finale of NBC's "Parenthood," which actor Sam Jaeger promises will be "colossal."

Fans can expect a bittersweet ending as "Parenthood" prepares to wrap up Season 6, its final season.

After the epic midseason finale aired in November, Jaeger, who plays Joel Graham on the show, dropped a few hints about the highly anticipated series finale.

"People will be sad, but I think it'll be so worthwhile when they get to the end," he told TODAY.com.

He added that a reunion show may not be necessary.

"Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like the way they're wrapping it up won't leave much need for that. It's such a colossal ending that I don't think we'll need to find out where people are down the road. We'll already have a sense."

A number of clues hint that someone's life will come to an end on the drama series. For instance, a rep from the show confirmed to BuzzFeed News that Sarah Ramos will reprise her role as Haddie during the series finale. Although no further information about Haddie's return has been provided, a family death may be the reason why the college student decides to take a break at Cornell University and make a return visit home.

Back in May, show creator Jason Katims also told BuzzFeed News that he would like the final season to tackle the "circle of life."

Further evidence that there may be a death in the family was presented in the last episode, "Lean In," which ended with a suspenseful cliffhanger as Zeek awoke from his sleep with chest pains and was in need of an ambulance, reports Entertainment Weekly.

The show also released an ominous preview video for the next episode, revealing that Zeek will get bad news about his health while he's in the hospital.

"Your heart is just not strong," a doctor tells Zeek in the promo.

Season 6, Episode 10 of "Parenthood," "How Did We Get Here?" airs on Thursday, Jan. 8, 2015, on NBC.
