2014 In Review: Why Chiquis Rivera, Calle 13 and Juan Gabriel Delivered the Best Performances of the Year [Watch]
Latino celebrities in 2014 were ready to blow audiences away at the performance-heavy award shows, but it wasn't the only place where Latinos shined on the stage.
We've rounded 10 of the best performances by Latinos in 2014.
1. Chiquis Rivera at Premios La Radio
Chiquis Rivera only began performing this year. Her first performance was at the 2014 Premios Juventud, and though she tried her best, she was heavily criticized. Many believed she was trying to copy her late mother, Jenni Rivera, but at Premios La Radio she found a genre that worked better for her.
At this award show, Chiquis sang "La Malquerida," which was more up-tempo, and she appeared to be enjoying herself.
2. Ricky Martin at the Latin Grammys
Premios Juventud was also not a good show for Ricky Martin. He and Jennifer Lopez appeared as holograms, and many people were disappointed, but he did have a great performance at the 2014 Latin Grammys.
He sang his newest song, "Adios," and his performance was everything fans expect from the Puerto Rican singer.
3. Jennifer Lopez at American Music Awards
Jennifer Lopez teamed up with Iggy Azalea at the American Music Awards, and the result was a reminder that Lopez can still put on a show. She is still a skilled entertainer, and she did most of the heavy lifting in that performance.

4. Luis Coronel at Premios Juventud
From his outfit to his set, Luis Coronel was a winner at the Premios Juventud 2014 show. He wore a letterman's jacket in carnival-themed performance of "Tenerte." It was a sweet performance from the 18-year-old crooner.
Shakira played a Carnaval drum, according to Billboard, and after many were unimpressed with the opening ceremony performances, Shakira gave the people what they were asking for.
6. Prince Royce on Premios Juventud
Prince Royce sang "Soy El Mismo," but the best part of his performance was how personal it was. The bachata singer shared pictures of his childhood for his fans.
Telemundo's Premios Tu Mundo had hit a low point after a slew of slow-paced performances, but Olga Tañon and Elvis Crespo rectified the problem. The two music industry vets didn't have a problem joining their backup dancers in a fun performance.
8. Becky G at Premios Juventud
Many Latinos watching Premios Juventud could relate to Becky G, who decided to sing her hit song "Shower" in both English and Spanish. Since her song was originally in English, Becky G decided to include viewers who may only speak Spanish.
Juan Gabriel was sick earlier this year, but when he returned, he showed everyone just how much he missed performing. He certainly impressed the audience with his dance moves.
10. Calle 13 at Latin Grammys
Residente took the lead and opened the 15th annual Latin Grammys. He performed "El Aguante," and made a political statement. He wore a shirt to bring awareness to the missing Ayotzinapa students.
