OS X Mavericks Release Date 2013: Expect Bug Fixes and Updates Shortly After Late October Release
It appears the upcoming OS X Mavericks Operating System will be following a similar pattern as the iOS 7 Operating System.
As Apple fans gear up for OS X Mavericks, Apple is working hard to get ahead of the game by preparing updates for release shortly after the debut of the new operating system, which is expected to be in late October according to Mac Rumors.
Users are especially looking forward to the exact thing Apple is advertising about the product: a much smoother experience.
"With OS X Mavericks, your Mac works even smarter," Apple says. "Energy-saving technologies help you get more out of your battery, and performance-boosting technology brings you more speed and responsiveness. It's power wielded wisely."
Among many other things, Apple and its iPad appears to be taking a heavy shot at the book market and its competitors there. Although the iBooks option is already in place, many people tend to use Kindle. Apple looks to retain customers and take advantage of that market.
"If you're a student hitting the books, keep as many open as you like and search through them with ease," apple says. "When you quote an excerpt while writing a paper, iBooks adds a citation for you. And when you take notes, highlight passages, or add a bookmark on your Mac, iCloud pushes them to all your devices automatically."
However, with the news that Apple will be updating the operating system shortly after its release, it may be a good idea to hold off until the update rolls around the corner. When the company already anticipates an update before the release, it could be a red flag indicating that something might be up.
"... be aware of the possibility of bugs and take precautions," Topher Kessler of CNet says. "The easiest one is to simply make a full and restorable Time Machine backup of your computer, which you can revert to in case anything goes awry with the update."
Although the speculation has hinted at the late October release as mentioned, Apple only says it will be coming "this fall."
