'Top Chef Estrellas' Contestant Pedro Rivera Shares His Hangover Remedy, Says Son Lupillo Rivera Swears By It
The Rivera patriarch is going to be competing in the upcoming season of "Top Chef Estrellas," and though he doesn't have cooking tips, he does have a hangover remedy.
Pedro Rivera's hangover cure is also approved by his son, Lupillo, according to La Opinion.
"...I learned that before going to sleep, drinking 16 ounces of chilled milk and later four very hot tortillas, with salt on every tortilla... a bite of tortilla taco and two big gulps of milk, and with that my hangover was completely gone," he said.
Pedro told La Opinion the same thing he told other mediums: The only thing he can cook is eggs. He says his son, Juan Carlos, is quite content with his eggs.
Pedro explained that he puts eggs in boiling water for about four minutes, where they end up half cooked.
He also talked about the food he and his family are used to eating during the holidays.
"My wife is from... Hermosillo, Sonora, and she really likes to make menudo," he said. "And after, she likes to make tamales."
Other people also pitch in, and there's a variety of food, including corn, beans and soup.
In a previous episode with "Al Rojo Vivo," Pedro said that during his marriage, all he had learned to do was make stars.
"I only dedicated myself to making stars on TV and for music," he said.
He joked that the only reason he joined the show was to see eye candy.
At the time, his family didn't know he was on the show, and he said his grandchildren were about to find out that their grandfather was now a chef.
The show kicks off on Jan. 11, 2015, and Pedro will be joined by Gabriel Coronel, Kimberly Dos Ramos, Sissi Fleitas, Judith Grace, Fabian Rios, Maripily Rivera, Henry Santos, Fernando Vargas and Gabriela Vergara.
The winner will earn $100,000 for their favorite charity.
