Drake 'Nothing Was the Same' Download & Tracklist: RZA Cleared Sample for 'Wu-Tang Forever' Remix
"Wu-Tang Forever," the fourth track on Drake's recently released third studio album "Nothing Was The Same," was inspired by Wu-Tang Clan's track "It's Yourz" from their 1997 double-album, "Wu-Tang Forever."
Since its release, the track has been getting undivided attention from people -- Drake's fans, Wu's fans, music listeners and followers - regarding its remix version. There have been disagreements and criticisms on the title of the track, since the song itself is not necessarily a tribute to Wu-Tang Clan. Also, there are more speculations going on about which Wu affiliates will be working with Drake.
Some of the Clan members already have taken parts in "Wu-Tang Forever" remix. U-God recently confirms that Masta Killa and Cappadonna have recorded their guest verse, and Raekwon shows his interest in being part of the record remix. Now, resident Wu producer RZA reveals his crucial role in making the remix.
"Drake sent me [the] song because they couldn't clear the sample. So I did it myself, personally, for free. Free of charge. Because to me, that's what we meant when we said, 'Wu-Tang is forever.' We didn't think we were going to live forever. We meant that the energy of what we do would spread on in culture, generation by generation. And by Drake absorbing it and having that influence in his life and having it be a part of him, it proves what I'm saying. And I'm really proud that he chose that rap," says RZA, showing his appreciation and support towards Drake's "Wu-Tang Forever."
The "Wu-Tang Forever" remix is not finalized yet, and it seems that there are going to be more of Wu-Tang Clan members on the way to contribute on the remix.
