Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Reportedly Headed to Puerto Rico
Victoria's Secret has been filming its 2015 bathing suit catalog in Puerto Rico, and the country may be getting its own televised runway show.
Alberto Baco, the country's economic and trade development department secretary, said that the "Victoria's Secret Swimsuit Fashion Show" is a chance to show off Puerto Rico's beauty, according to Fox News Latino.
The show would be broadcast for more than 120 million viewers across 190 countries.
"This is a unique international marketing opportunity for Puerto Rico, both to promote ourselves as a tourist destination as well as to do business and big productions with international scope," Baco said.
The company has been having a good year, according to the Huffington Post.
YouGov BrandIndex, which reports on how consumers feel about different companies, said that the brand's underwear and fashion shows have helped to make it more popular. Sales back this up as well, as Victoria's Secret made $4.8 billion in the first three quarters of the year.
But the company may be facing some trouble.
Victoria's Secret has faced criticism after it was found that it had been selling used underwear, notes Jezebel.
The Rossen Report team at "Today" bought underwear from a few stores and removed all the tags. Dots were put on the labels, so that the underwear could later be identified. The team found that Victoria's Secret, Marshall's and Wal-Mart had resold the items.
Macy's, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom and The Gap did not accept them.
The companies that were accused of selling used underwear released statements.
"Our top priority is our customers' satisfaction and safety. The actions you describe are a clear and significant violation of our policy," said Victoria's Secret in a statement. "We take this situation very seriously and are taking immediate action to re-educate all of our associates on the proper way to handle returns."
